rumisu is a joint project of two sisters, Pinar and Deniz…their passion for illustration led them to adopt first the good old classic silk scarf and now also the cotton and wool scarf , as their version of a blank canvas… each scarf created has its own story; characters & inspiration and color mood…

Pinar and Deniz create their own prints by hand-illustrating, to welcome everyone into their whimsical world They try to keep away from taking life too seriously and keep a sense of humor when they design and hopefully share along the whimsy

Pinar was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, lived in the USA for 10 years where she first studied economics at Harvard College, then finance at Wharton Business School… She worked as a consultant for Bain & Co in Boston and Milan, in 2004 returning to her native city Istanbul.

Deniz was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, lived in New York City for 6 years, where she studied fashion design at Pratt Institute, then worked in the industry with several independent high-end designers. In 2004 she returned to Istanbul, where she entered the “young fashion designers contest” of Turkey, won the first prize. As her prize she received a scholarship for a masters degree in advanced fashion at Polimoda, Florence, Italy, after earning her degree in 2007, she returned to her native city Istanbul.
